Types of Evaluations, Related Services and Fees

 

Psycho-Educational Evaluation—This type of testing is typically used to rule in/out learning disabilities and/or attention problems.  Testing takes approximately 6-7 hours and includes the following testing categories:

 

  • Intellectual testing 
  • Educational achievement testing 
  • Neuropsychological test battery—to look at attention, organization, visual and auditory processing, fine motor skills, receptive and expressive language skills, visual-spatial skills, problem solving skills, memory skills, attention screening 
  • Emotional screening to look at social, emotional, organization, relationships 
  • Fee:  $2800  (includes pre and post testing conferences, testing, analysis and report)

 

Psycho-Educational plus Emotional/Personality Assessment—This type of testing is typically used to rule in/out or to investigate the relationship between learning disabilities, social-emotional problems and/or attention problems.  Testing takes approximately 7-8 hours and includes all of the above as well as:

 

  • Projective test battery 
  • Checklists completed by parents and/or school 
  • Fee: $3400 (includes pre and post testing conferences, testing, analysis and report)

 

Other types of evaluations such as evaluation of Autism Spectrum Disorders, traumatic brain injury, intellectual disabilities—The test protocol for each child is developed after a thorough record review and possibly an observation and might include any of the following:

 

  • An adaptive behavior inventory 
  • Autism diagnostic tools to rule in/out autism, Asperger's, , PDD, nonverbal learning disability 
  • School observation 
  • School consultation 
  • Intellectual testing—verbal and/or nonverbal 
  • Neuropsychological test battery—to look at attention, organization, visual and auditory processing, fine motor skills, receptive and expressive language skills, visual-spatial skills, problem solving skills, memory skills, attention screening 
  • Educational achievement testing 
  • Checklists completed by parents and/or school 
  • Fee: $2400 or less (includes pre and post testing conferences, testing, analysis and report)

After finishing the testing I schedule a feedback conference with the parents and/or individual evaluated at which time I go over the results and give them a copy of the report.  The feedback conference is usually within 10 days of completing the testing.  This meeting is included in the testing fee.

 

Admissions Testing—This testing takes approximately 2 hours and includes the administration of the requested intelligence scale.  Usually this is one of the Wechsler intelligence tests. Fee: $395

 

Expert Witness Testimony:  Expert testimony can be provided at court hearings, administrative hearings with administrative law judges, school placement meetings, and other school meetings. 

Fee:  $200 per hour
